Soil Amendments

The importance of healthy and balanced soil cannot be overstated for the state of the soil is the predictor of the health and resilience of the plants, animals and people who are sustained by it. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to revitalize and care for the land just as one would care for the health and wellness of any beloved family member.

Healthy soil should be roughly 25% air, 25% water, 40% mineral, 7.5% organic matter (both active and inactive), and 2.5% living organism including the microbiological community in the rhizosphere. All of these components are interdependent and necessary to raise crops with superior nutrition.

MYCORRHIZAE:

The yield enhancing attributes of mycorrhizal fungi have co-evolved over millennia and have been the focus of 30 years of intensive research. Now growers, landscapers and homeowners can apply the miraculous relationship of plant and mycorrhizal fungi and improve plant growth the natural way. Ask which type of mycorrhizae is right for what you are growing.

SEA 90:

Sea mineral solids are 100% natural, water soluble, mined minerals listed by the USDA National Organic Program and Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) for use in the production of organic food, fiber and livestock.

CALPRIL:

A finely ground, fast acting, calcium carbonate lime re-granulated in a prill form for ease of application. Calpril is applied to adjust soil acidity and supply mineral nutrients to a variety of crops.

FISH HYDROLYSATE AND MICRONIZED FISH:

Fish products are an excellent source of nutrition for soils and plants as fish contain the full spectrum of nutrients found in the planets waters.

POWDERED KELP:

High in potassium, this water soluble sea plant enhances plant growth and disease resistance while simultaneously stimulating microbial growth in the soil and adding organic matter.

HUMIC ACID:

Humic acid is technically not a fertilizer, although in some walks people do consider it that. Humic acid is an effective agent to use as a complement to synthetic or organic fertilizers. In many instances, regular humic acid use will reduce the need for fertilization due to the soil's and plant's ability to make better use of it. In some occurrences, fertilization can be eliminated entirely if sufficient organic material is present and the soil can become self sustaining through microbial processes and humus production.

VERMICOMPOST:

Made with loving care right here in our warehouse, our vermicompost is an excellent quality soil additive or compost tea starter. Use in the garden, greenhouse, or field and give your plants a boost compliments of our hard working red wigglers. Suggested application rate is 1 part vermicompost to 10 parts planting medium. Sold in 50 lb. boxes or larger quantities.
